Creating Awareness and Building a Foundation
The Early Childhood Enrichment Program works to build a foundation for the development of STEM and healthcare knowledge and interest for preschool – 2nd grade students. The foundation is constructed through awareness of STEM and healthcare education and careers, teacher professional development, family engagement, classroom curriculum and resources, alignment with standards, and research that supports best practices in early childhood STEM education.
Making a Difference
The work of the Early Childhood Enrichment Program takes place on Chicago’s West Side, with the goal of providing education outreach to underserved and under resourced communities. High-quality STEM and healthcare education is necessary to inspire young learners and prepare them for future school challenges. This initial investment will strengthen the children’s attitudes and ability to embrace STEM and healthcare learning experiences and practices.
